a creative studio
your brand story
It’s no secret that the team at EAT loves to get down to a good dance track, so when we were presented the opportunity through M Theory and Blood Company to work with the Grammy Award winning electronic music producer, ZEDD, we threw those dancing shoes on, did some stretches, and prepared to throw down.
Having been a fan of Alessia Cara’s music, Zedd reach out to the singer to collaborate on a single. Once they had a completed track, entitled “STAY”, the next step was to get it out to the world. EAT was then brought in to update the existing Zedd website to create a splash page for the artwork promoting “STAY”. The splash page needed to be immediately recognizable as the artwork for the song (to match the music video) and be engaging, but still simple enough to allow us to update the page with each new track to follow. To start the project, EAT first researched different types of effects that could be implemented to the splash page’s artwork. Once Zedd’s team approved a creative direction, we were then able to simulate the desired effects through our animation software. Once approved, we laid out the art, coded it and got it done in no time. The ultimate result was a sleek splash page with a dynamic interactive parallax effect (with a moving reflection of a mirror) that perfectly represented the engaging spirit of this uplifting track.
Since the launch of the single “STAY” it has rocketed up to #1 on the dance/electronic charts, and the music video has received over 106 Million views and while EAT can’t take any credit for that… we can account for about 1,000 plays of those 106 Million. Have a listen for yourself here... A month after STAY’s release and once it was thriving, we were requested to update the splash page with new photographs of the two talented artists to highlight their collaboration.
